What:
My dear friend Brett Snyder has been fighting ALS for the past 12 years! A former Lehigh football player, husband to Carissa and father to Tate (5) and Lucas (2) he fights this battle everyday. For the past two years Brett has required 24 hour care, eats through a feeding tube and communicates through a eye activated computer voice pad. He's the most inspiring person I've ever met, we will never give up, he will never stop fighting! I try to go up once a month to help Carissa around the house and hang out with the Brett and the boys, I will continue to do this in addition to putting any funds donated toward Brett's cost of care.
Why:
Brett is not only a dear friend, but he's an inspiration. It's hard to understand why someone in their 30's has to live a life of great limitation. Brett truly believes one day there will be a cure for ALS and we hope that day is sooner rather then later! Until then, we'll continue to join Brett, Carissa, Tate, Luke and their entire family in fighting ALS one day at a time. Brett's annual cost of care is in excess of $50,000- every penny counts!
